About me
My name is Rebecca Inghammar and I am a certified talk therapist with a 3-year basic psychotherapy training (so-called Step 1) from HumaNova in Gothenburg.
I have a professional background in the language industry and more specifically as a translator and interpreter, a job that in many ways has laid the foundation for how I practice therapy today. In both these roles I work to facilitate comprehension and in order to do so successfully I give my full attention and focus on the process leaving personal opinions and assumptions out of the content of the conversation.
My ambition as a therapist is to create a space where you can enhance your ability to observe and reflect on yourself and your relationships in a non-judgmental manner, and, by doing so, be able to consciously choose how you want to relate to yourself, others and the world at large.
Therapeutic approach
As a Psychosynthesis therapist I offer an integrative therapeutic approach, which means that I'm trained in several different therapeutic disciplines and can use different counseling tools and techniques to suit you as an individual.
These techniques include, among others, active dialogue, role-playing, the empty chair technique, guided visualization, free-drawing, mindfulness and empathic communication. It's important to me that you feel comfortable with the tools and techniques we use and therefore I always make some time to introduce them before we use them.
The four pillars of psychosynthesis
Psychosynthesis is a practical psychology that aims to help people develop
-
their ability to choose and accept responsibility for their choices, both in the moment and in life at large,
-
a desire to seek meaning in life,
-
a willingness to live in the world as it is and accept any limitations, and
-
a sense of having a purpose with their existence.
The Grief Recovery Outreach Program
The Grief Recovery Method is the action program for moving beyond death, divorce and other losses.
There are a number of losses that can produce the range of emotions we call grief; death of a close friend or relative, divorce, end of any relationship, major financial changes, loss of health and more. Whether the loss occurred recently or a long time ago, it may still affect your life. The program is designed to help you recover from grief and get back to participating fully in life.
The Grief Recovery Method® Outreach Program is an evidence based action program to help people deal with the pain caused by different losses.
Over the course of eight weeks we will look at your old beliefs about dealing with loss, look at what losses have affected your life and take the actions needed to process and complete everything that is incomplete.
We work either one-on-one or in a group setting.
